The importance of being everywhere

We are all guilty of this, often even myself. We invest heavily in one medium - be it Instagram, Facebook, blogs, Etsy, etc. and do so in a 1-to-1 relationship. We craft a message solely for Facebook, while posting a catchy Instagram picture and at the same time, spend time optimizing everything separately.
Does a farmer build his tools each time he harvests a crop, each tool built solely for that crop?
The answer is no.
A farmer has tools that span multiple crops that he tends to and sharpens them when they become dull. He diligently crafts and selects each tool to maximize his impact for the day.
The same goes for your digital presence as a business. Tirelessly spending time creating new content for each medium will create a spiraling effect where you are chasing the next post, the post after that, so on. So what is the answer?
Just document!
Just as I am doing with this blog, I am creating content that can be cut, crafted, and ultimately used in all of today's message. I can use phrases and a photo for my Instagram post, summarize the message into a Facebook Post, and even speak into greater detail in a podcast. It all is the same message that I can take back to my crops to yield the biggest return on my time.
Don't spend your days continuously creating content for each network, document your thoughts and value for your customers, stand back and you will see the masterpiece at work.
